Practical Problem Solving (4 hrs.) – Instructor Mark Netzel

PDCA  DMAIC  8D -- There are many problem-solving methods, each with its distinctive acronym. But the basic tools in problem solving are used in all of these – because they work. This class will cover simple, powerful techniques that can be applied to any problems, whether as part of an improvement project, or the day-to-day issues that any worker encounters. Topics: Getting the most bang for your buck (prioritizing work using Pareto analysis); Organizing a problem-solving effort; Three simple tools ( Five Whys, Cause-and-Effect, examining numeric data graphically); Using mapping to eliminate system problems.
